Insanity was in the eye of the beholder. Harmon Little was a surveillance expert. He lived in the shadows, and he liked it there. There wasn’t a place he couldn’t get in and out of without detection. As usual with his mischievous nature, his current assignment went south, and he ran. He thought he was free and clear until he knocked someone over in a grocery store aisle. Sanity wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Solomon “Solo†Poe was counting calories. Working out until he fell into bed hungry and exhausted. He was plain and pudgy, plus he couldn’t remember when he’d last gone on a date. He wanted more than the occasional, lights out, one-night stand. So, he was going to lose the weight and find himself a man. At least that was the plan, then a big man with a huge smile tried to kill him in a store aisle. There was one thing he was sure of, Harmon was his.

"JM Dabney knows how to write beautifully broken men and their understanding, compassionate loves. These books are not filled with hearts and flowers and their journey is filled with truth, heartache but what comes out in the end is so damn fantastic.
I knew Little as going to be a heartbreaker in the best of ways. Poe was just so perfect for him. With each book I think the stories just get better and better. You can't help but fall in love with these characters, feel them on an emotional level, even. You just want to be like Lily and Peaches and wrap them up from the world. However, these men can't be contained so just sit back and buckle in and enjoy the ride, because it can and will get bumpy. It is so worth it though."

Little Trenton Security Volume 2 JM Dabney Laura McNellis Books Reviews
- It's impossible not to love this series and all the crazy guys that led up to it.
In this one, we have Harmon Little, who came straight out the gate breakin my heart.
With the lowest of self-esteem and self-worth, a long life of being used and thrown away has him convinced that he's not worth being wanted, and he's never had a "person" or people who showed him any kind of love or affection, and it's something he wishes for so much.
People say he forms unnatural attachments, but jeez.... can you blame him?
So, after a talk with Lily about what happens when you find your person...like lightning bolts to the gut, he runs smack into Solomon Poe and feels it immediately. So, what does he do?
He kidnaps him.
Yep, grabs him by the hand, drags him to his van and drives off, with what I would imagine would be the cutest cheesy smile, thinking he's finally found someone he could keep. Unfortunately, Poe doesn't see it like that... he's just been kidnapped!
And I must be as weird as the people in this fictional world, because I thought that was just the cutest thing. Unfortunately for Little, it doesn't go according to plan, at first... but fortunately, it at least made an impression with Poe, because he finds himself calling Little and wanting to hang out.
They do the friends thing for a while, where neither of them think the other wants more... it's customary with this author, that the back and forth makes you want to punch something, the |he doesn't want me" and "no, he doesn't want me" until finally, one of them just gets over it and does something about it....
What surprised me the most, was that unlike the other books, Poe takes the lead in this one. It's LIttle who's the more submissive one and Poe is the more dominant one. I liked that. I liked that Little was the one that needed taken care of instead of the other way around. It made for a nice change.
Now, the side story in this, was a tough one.... I almost couldn't stomach the torture that Little had to go through for the sake of an undercover assignment.... don't worry, there's no cheating or antyhing, it's nothing like that... but it's almost worse, because why in the heck did nobody do anything for seven or ten days when Little was being drugged and tortured in that hospital???
The shock therapy, omg, I had to skim, it physically hurt me to read about it.
I couldn't believe they not only left him for that long with no contact, but they also had to leave him in the condition he was in, when he was quite literally begging to go home. I wouldn't have been able to do it. Knowing that he could've and might've died and they just left him?
No... wouldn't happen...I didn't like that part, and I'll admit, I almost stopped reading. I'm glad I didn't, because then I wouldn't have gotten the sweetest ending that Little deserved, but, I almost did.
Overall though, this one was just another amazing addition to an already awesome series.
I can't wait for more! - JM Dabney knows how to write beautifully broken men and their understanding, compassionate loves.
It is so worth it though. - I want to start off by saying that I really liked both the premise of this book and the storyline. Without giving any spoilers, I also quite liked the relationship dynamic between Harman and Poe, where Harman is more submissive than his smaller, chubbier boyfriend and Poe becomes comfortable taking charge. The reason this book got 3 stars, and was ultimately a DNF for me, was that the dialog was inserted into the story with NO claim to who said what. AT ALL. There were entire paragraphs of back and forth direct speech dialog that didn’t have a single “he saidâ€, “Harman saidâ€, “they repliedâ€, or anything. It made the story very difficult for me to read and follow along, and I kept finding myself lost as to whom was speaking. Multiple times I had to go back and re-read it over and over, which was very frustrating and ultimately I just gave up. I would encourage the author to make some edits correcting this issue, which I think would bring this book up to a solid 4 stars.
- I rarely write a review unless I find a book absolutely amazing. And this one was FANTASTIC!!!! I have read so many M/M books by so many authors throughout the years so I thought I’d pretty much known every good gay romance author out there but I am sooo glad I was wrong.
After coming across this author, I pretty much read every J. M. Dabney’s book synopsis. I found Little’s to be the most intriguing and interesting. It sounded like it would be a heartwarming as well as humorous story and I love that combination so I thought it would be a pretty good start to get a feel for this author’s style. And OMG!!!!! It was even better than I could have imagined. It has everything. It has a great plot, the characters have a lot of depth, it’s hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing at Little’s antics and shenanigans.
I loved this book so much so after I was done I thought I’d try the first in the series, Livingston, which was sweet but I honestly didn’t think it was as good or better than Little’s book. I am about to begin Sin and Saint’s book, it sounds like they are a handful. Hope it’s funny too.
Overall, this book deserved 5 stars and much praise. Totally recommend it! Can’t wait for the next couple. I hope it’s Pure and Raul. I also look forward to Freddie and Horace having their own books and HEA. - I have been anxiously awaiting this book, and was not disappointed. I just adore Little and Poe. My heart hurt for both of them. They truly needed each other. I love how mischievous Little is and while Poe finds it annoying at times, it’s like trying to stay mad at a hyper puppy. Another great book in such an amazing universe.
- Little Is a character that not to many people understand what he is going through. Feeling unwanted by parents is hard becoming homeless at a young age is even harder. J.M Dabney does an amazing job getting that pain and unknownness and unwantedness he feels across in this book. It will make you cry and will make you feel things you have never felt. Little is just trying to survive and deal with what he has been handed. And Poe.... Poe is his person. this story is beautifully ugly. Best one so far! These characters have a way of worming their way into your heart by the time you are done reading you will feel like part of their family.
